Heavy Duty Manual Access Gate

A manually operated access gate provides a straightforward and reliable way to control vehicle access at commercial, industrial and private premises.

The gate is opened and closed by hand, making it a practical choice for entrances where vehicle access needs to be managed simply and securely. Its heavy duty steel construction is suited to regular use across a range of site access points.

Double Leaf Gate Design

The double leaf design consists of two gate leaves which meet centrally when closed, making it an effective solution for securing wider vehicle entrances between 5m and 11m.

When opened, both gate leaves swing away from the centre to provide a wide vehicle access opening. Each gate leaf is supported from a heavy duty hanging post and supplied with galvanised heavy duty adjustable eyebolts, allowing the gate alignment to be adjusted during installation.

Where Can This Gate Be Used?

Our heavy duty double leaf access gates are suitable for a wide range of commercial, industrial and private locations where a wider vehicle entrance needs to be secured.

Typical applications include:

- Car parks

- Industrial premises

- Commercial sites

- Private roads

- Service yards

- Recreational grounds

- Private estates

- Restricted vehicle access points

The wide double leaf design makes the gate particularly suitable for entrances where larger vehicles or wider vehicle access is required.

Sliding Latch & Security

Each heavy duty double leaf access gate is supplied with a centrally positioned sliding latch mechanism. Once both gate leaves are closed, the sliding latch secures the two leaves together in the closed position.

The latch incorporates a facility for a suitable padlock, allowing the gate to be securely locked when required to help prevent unauthorised vehicle access.

For installations requiring additional protection, an optional lock shroud is available. Manufactured from heavy duty steel, the shroud surrounds the locking area to provide additional protection for the padlock.

Concrete-In or Bolt-Down Fixing

For the most secure and robust installation, we always recommend concrete-in gate posts where possible.

By setting the gate posts below ground level and securing them within concrete foundations, the gate benefits from a strong and permanent fixing method. For this reason, concrete-in is our preferred option for heavy duty access gate installations.

We understand, however, that some installations are onto existing concrete surfaces where customers may not want to break out and excavate the existing base. In these situations, bolt-down posts provide a practical alternative, allowing the gate to be installed onto a suitable concrete base without the need for excavation.

Whilst both options are available, we recommend concrete-in fixing wherever site conditions allow.

Latch Back Posts

Where the gate leaves need to remain open, latch back posts are available to secure them in the open position.

Each latch back post incorporates a self-locking catch, allowing the gate leaf to be securely held when fully opened. A padlock facility is also included where the gate needs to be locked in the open position.

Latch back posts help prevent the gate leaves from swinging back into the accessway and can be particularly useful where vehicles regularly enter and leave the site.

Please note that latch back posts will be manufactured to suit the same fixing method selected for the gate, whether concrete-in or bolt-down.

Gate Finish Options

Our double leaf access gates are available in a choice of finish options to suit the required appearance and level of corrosion protection.

Galvanised – Provides durable corrosion protection.

Powder Coated – Provides a coloured decorative finish.

Galvanised & Powder Coated – Combines the corrosion protection of galvanising with a coloured powder coated finish.

Other powder coating colours may also be available on request.

Need a Smaller Access Gate?

For vehicle entrances between 3m and 6m wide, our heavy duty single leaf access gate provides a straightforward manually operated solution.

The single leaf design is supplied with a self-locking gate catch with a padlock facility and is ideal where the required access opening can be achieved using one gate leaf.
